#NorthsideStJ 3rd graders are studying The Sea to explore the essential question: Why do people explore the sea?
These G3 students analyzed how the painting "The Gulf Stream" connects to the sea.

#NorthsideStJ thanks Andrew Wenzel with Smithfield Foods and members of the St. James - Northside Elementary PTO for their support of Northside's supplemental math program, Reflex Math, that supports students in 2nd-5th Grade.
#NorthsideStJ had some Grade 4 and Kindergarten buddies this morning. Students from Mr. Kaus' class partnered up with Mrs. Romsdahl's class and 4th graders helped Kindergartners log-in to their chromebooks to get on Reading Eggs and Mathseeds.

Grade 3 #NorthsideStJ students were busy "buzzin about books" this week. Students that finish a book share why they liked the story and why their classmates should read the book.
#NorthsideStJ students held bus and pedestrian safety today, to discuss safe strategies when riding a bus and walking to and from school.

#NorthsideStJ Grade 3 students in Mrs. Friesen's class took part in a Tableau today as part of their Module 0, Wit amd Wisdom lesson. In a Tableau, students create a "still picture" to capture a moment from an event in a story.
Grade 5 #NorthsideStJ students in Mrs. Kauffmann's class working on morphemes, identifying the base word, along with identifying any prefixes or suffixes during their Functional Morphology lesson.
#NorthsideStJ 5th Grade students in Mrs. Kauffmann's Class using their critical thinking skills to "Save Fred".
