
It was a great morning having "Muttnik" visit, and our #NorthsideStJ students are excited to kick off the Muttnik Reading Challenge.




#NorthsideStJ grade 5 students are beginning Module 3 to explore "What factors led to the start of the Civil War?"
Today, they explored the prefix anti- to determine the meanings of the words: antiflu, antibody, anti-aging, and antifreeze.




#NorthsideStJ KA Students are kicking off Module 3: Then and Now with a book walk" and determining if the text is literary or informational. Way to go! Students were blown away that in the "past" kids had to WALK to school.





Grade 3 #NorthsideStJ students are planning for their EOM task examining the question, "How do people learn about space?"
Students are active using their graphic organizers and sentence frames to support their writing.

Grade 2 #NorthsideStJ students are exploring what life was like in the West for early American and today they completed a notice and wonder about John Henry: An American Legend by Keats





Grade 1 #NorthsideStJ students are beginning Module 3 today, where they will explore the essential question: "How do people respond to the powerful force of the wind?
They began today reading the story, "Feel the Wind"
"Wind is created when hot air and cold air switch places"

#NorthsideStJ G2 students have been exploring the essential question: "What was life like in the West for early Americans?"
This week, they determined the life lessons they can take from the story of Johnny Appleseed.

SJPS Staff just wrapped up Unit 4, Part 1 of their LETRS Journey. LETRS is a 2yr, 8-unit, 144-hr professional development journey. SJPS Local Facilitators: Liam, Nicole, Lydia, and Michele were "unstressed" as today's lesson focused on the six-syllable types and the schwa.
